“Friends” vs “Millennials”

Thanks to Netflix, I have just finished binging on 10 seasons of “friends” television show and I must say I enjoyed every episode. The show is funny, entertaining and easy to watch.

For me, the jokes just never get old. The storey lines are based on real life every day scenarios that these six friends find themselves experiencing. I grew up watching “friends” and it was great to have an opportunity to watch it all again.

I think it’s safe to say that “friends” dealt with some sticky subjects at the time, they not only navigated through them in a gentle way (one that will not offend the viewers), but in a jovial and upbeat manner.

So I hope you can understand my shock when I heard that “millennial’s” were offended by the story lines on “friends” calling it homophobic, sexist, body shaming and trans phobic.

What’s the point of it all if you can’t talk about delicate issues with light-hearted humour all because of “political correctness”??

Please lighten up and enjoy a good comedy!!
